Today I accepted the formal resignation from Prof. Guinevere Meredith as Head of Slytherin house. While she will continue to hold her other leadership roles, she feels it is in the best interest of Slytherin house to step back and allow for additional leadership opportunities among members who have not only an interest, but also the time, to devote to building Slytherin house with their expertise and support. Professor Meredith has held the position since 2018 and has been a valued member of the house administrative team. We are so happy that she will be able to continue serving our community in her many other roles both within the Governors Board and beyond.
Moving forward, Professor Nessa McKay will be joining our staff as the new Head of Slytherin house. Professor McKay is a new character on our site, but she will be written by our very own Susan Boyd, among her many other active characters on HO! She joined our community in 2014 and has continued to contribute in many ways, including as a Hogwarts staff member and prefect!
We welcome Professor McKay to this leadership role with open arms and will support her transition into this position. Please be on the lookout for any additional changes to house leadership around Hogwarts as our members make decisions about their roles. We continue to support all members in the needs their personal lives require and the effects that can have on an ability to fulfill the demands that administrative roles have. Thank you all for your patience and support, for coming together as a family, and for showing our members that we love one another.
