Students,
With the closure of Durmstrang now complete, I wish to take the time to remind all about the Move-Up and Graduation Requirements at Hogwarts. These are the requirements for moving up and graduating if you started writing your character as a 1st year.
To move up to 2nd year, you need 3 quills.
To move up to 3rd year, you need 6 quills.
To move up to 4th year, you need 9 quills.
To move up to 5th year, you need 12 quills.
To move up to 6th year, you need 12 quills and a quill in OWLs.
To move up to 7th year, you need 15 quills and a quill in OWLs.
To graduate, you need 15 quills, a quill in OWLs, and a quill in NEWTs.
In the case of twins/triplets moving up, at least one multiple must be active and must have all the quills required to move up from year to year. Each multiple must have their own quill in OWL and NEWTs to graduate. Exams cannot be shared.
Graduation Requirements for Canons and Senior Students
Canons and Senior Students should take into consideration the school year they were created to figure out how many Quills they need to graduate.
If you began as a 1st year, you need 15 quills, a quill in OWLs, and a quill in NEWTs to graduate.
If you began as a 2nd year, you need 12 quills, a quill in OWLs, and a quill in NEWTs to graduate.
If you began as a 3rd year, you need 9 quills, a quill in OWLs, and a quill in NEWTs to graduate.
If you began as a 4th or 5th year, you need 6 quills, a quill in OWLs, and a quill in NEWTs to graduate.
If you began as a 6th or 7th year, you need 3 quills, a quill in OWLs, and a quill in NEWTs to graduate.
Canons who were rewound under the Canon Rewind Rule have different quill rules which they can read about here.
The move-up code at the end of the term will be updated to allow for students to specify if they fall under the special circumstance of Canon or Senior Student.
At this time, the Senior Student Program has ended. Unless you wish to take on an older canon or rewind a canon, all students will begin as 1st years.
Any questions can be PM'd to Prof. Guinevere Meredith.
