Freya had known Dominique for a while now, and even though the two both had busy jobs, the two tried to stay in contact. So obviously, when Freya started her new business, she told the blonde Weasley about it. Dom had told her about her cousin, who was aspiring to be a model. So Freya, after seeing a few of her pictures, she handed Dom her business card to hand to Lucy like the good friend that she was. The two had scheduled to meet this afternoon in Freya's office in Tinworth. The girl already had some prior experience, so Freya was curious to hear more about that. As she waited for Lucy to arrive, Freya finished up arranging one of her client's planning for the upcoming month, occasionally taking a sip of her iced macchiato.

Becoming a model was still part of Lucy's day-to-day aspirations, but it hadn't proven to be as easy as she'd once imagined it might be. Coming out of Hogwarts, Lucy had struggled. Actually, saying she struggled was putting it lightly. She'd suffered through challenges she couldn't possibly have prepared herself for and ultimately, modeling took a backburner. It was for the best because her health had been greatly impacted. After putting things aside for a bit, Lucy was in recovery and doing relatively well. Was she making good money? Not really, though she did pull in significant tips. Was she modeling a lot? No, but occasionally she would walk a show or pose for a photoshoot for a catalogue. Nothing was what she wanted it to be, though. Her cousin, Dom, was fairly informed about what was going on in her life, so when Dom handed her a business card for representation from a company, Lucy was both surprised and curious. She didn't know what to expect from the meeting that was set up, but if it meant getting her into modeling, she'd give it a try.

Lucy arrived in Tinworth at Peak Artist Management feeling a mixture of emotions and a flurry of thoughts. She had chosen to wear a pair of denim with a cream shirt and red buttoned jacket. Hopefully she looked like enough of a model without overdoing it. She carried a copy of her portfolio which had photos from any shoot or runway she'd done. When she got to the office, Lucy knocked and peered in, anxious about this meeting for one clear reason: she wanted to be a model and this woman would, hopefully, help her achieve that dream.

Freya looked up when she heard a knock on the door and one of her staff members let Lucy enter her office. "Lucy welcome, take a seat. I'm Freya." Freya said as she got up from her seat and held out her hand to introduce herself before she sat down again. So far she had only seen pictures of the girl in front of her, but seeing her in person definitely helped and Freya could really see the girl's potential as a model. "Why don't you tell me a bit more about yourself? And did you bring your portfolio?" Freya asked, wanting to take a look at the girl's material to see if she had any tips for future go-sees.

Lucy smiled politely and entered the office completely, letting the door shut behind her. She moved toward Freya and shook her hand in return while saying, "Yes, Lucy, pleasure to meet you." She released Freya's hand and took a seat, only to reach into her handbag and pull out her portfolio. "Here you are," she said, holding the portfolio out for Freya to look at. "I've wanted to model for as long as I can remember, but it's been difficult to really break into the scene. I have done runways and a few photoshoots, but I had to take a break from things after my manager, at the time, made inappropriate advances on me and the other models." she left out the part about developing an eating disorder. It didn't seem relevant now that she was healthy again. "I'm happy to do any type of modeling. I have no preferences, but I want to be a role model for young girls that are unique. I was inspired by a model when I was young... seeing her in a magazine made me think maybe beauty wasn't so cut and dry." Lucy crossed on leg over the other and let her hands rest in her lap. "I honestly need better representation than who I had. I know I can't do this all on my own."

Freya was pleased the girl didn't seem to think too highly of herself. She had seen potential clients who had their heads up in the cloud so far it was near impossible to connect with them, just because of their looks. Newsflash, there were plenty of pretty girls walking the Earth, and there were so many factors that came into play when it comes to booking jobs. The vision of the designer, the photographer, or whoever the hiring party was, mattered probably most, but a lot of models underestimated that likability is an important a factor too. It's important to be pleasant to work with someone, and Freya couldn't stress enough how important is was to come well prepared, to know about the gig, the designer and the brand, just to show you take someone's life's work as important as they find it.  Freya nodded and showed the girl an understanding smile when she told her about the manager's advances. "That is not okay." Freya said softly before looking back down to go through the girl's portfolio. "I like your work." The girl had a feeling for it, that was for sure. "Do you know your measurements?" Freya asked, "And can you show me your walk?" Freya asked curiously.

Lucy nodded somberly, knowing that the behavior of the man hadn't been okay. It was the biggest thing that had put her off modeling for awhile, not to mention the copious amounts of debt and the eating disorder she'd acquired. She was in a much healthier place now, though, which was why it was important to her to try again. Pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a model wasn't going to be easy. There were going to be road bumps even beyond what she had already experienced, no doubt, but she was in this for the long haul. She was stubborn and wanted to succeed. Maybe, just maybe, Freya would be the one to help her along that path.

"Yes," Lucy replied, quickly rattling out her measurements. Then she stood when asked to show her walk. She stepped over to the wall and faced Freya, then did her walk along the room toward her.

Freya nodded and quickly scribbled down the girl's measurements. The girl was well prepared, a trait not only she valued, but a lot of designers did as well. They were in a fast paced industry, there weren't a lot of people who could see past someone wasting their time like that. Besides, seeming well prepared was something that showed the model took the job, and the hard work that the designer put into their collection, seriously. Freya sat back as she watched Lucy's walk. The walk was good too, as far as she could judge. She could arrange a meeting with a runway coach that could help Lucy with a few tweaks here and there. "I think we can be of value to each other Lucy." She said and motioned to the chair, telling her she could sit back down again. "So this is what I propose. We'll go set up a meeting with a photographer I know so we can update your portfolio. I'll try to schedule a runway coach to be here on the same day. What I do with most first clients is to set up a provisional contact. It's a six month contact, which we can extent if both of us are on the same page, or turn it into a more long term contact. For now, we'll help you in any way you might need, get you to go-sees. You won't owe us anything until you actually book a gig. Do you have any questions so far?"

Relief flooded through Lucy when Freya said they could be of use to one another. She hadn't been sure exactly what to expect from the meeting, but silently felt she owed Dom for putting her in contact with Freya. This could be the first steps for her big break in the industry. Modeling had been such an important aspiration of hers that it hurt when she began to believe she might not achieve it. She felt like she was getting a second chance, and she wouldn't blow that opportunity. Whatever Freya suggested, she would listen. Lucy sat down once more and listened tentatively to Freya's plan, nodding. "Absolutely. That would be fantastic," she agreed, trying not to linger her thought on the piece about owing something. Obviously she would, but she was still carrying debt from her days of trying to model on her own without real guidance and a manager that took advantage of her. Modeling could be expensive for the models until they were successful. But she believed she could do well and in the mean time, she had been earning money at the casino that was helping her pay down her debts.

[1 - Spring 2023 Magical Careers] | outfit

Aaira was choosing her classes carefully this year not wanting to overburden herself with the exam studies because she needed to study a lot. When she said a lot, she wasn't kidding. The girl had literally failed half of her classes and had to retake them. Even failed an entire year. Had she been taking on a career that needed active use of spells or theory, etc... she didn't know how she'd survive. Probably been rejected a gazillion times and settled in a job that didn't require all that. But they said everyone was given something that would open the door for success and in her case it was her gifted voice and a creative mind and maybe the overload of emotions. Either way, it helped her with a direction and made her fit a career that didn't really pay heed to her other failures. But the music field was not an easy one to get into. The fame, the spotlight... it was hard to attain which is why she took the internship. She needed something to get ahead... knowledge, and information on what next, and lucky for her, her internship landed her into a talent agency under Ms. Freya Brendan. She was asked to report to the office in the letter which she did and was directed to her office.

After Freya had welcomed Bulbul into the Peak! family, Caleb Rothwell reached out to her again to ask if she wanted to take a second intern under her wings. And after he had a pleasant experience with Bulbul, Freya was more than willing to take the shot with the next one too. The girl was around Bulbul’s age, and wanted to figure out more about the things she needed to do become a professional musician. Freya liked to see the girl was well prepared. There were so many people that could sing, but only a few managed to actually make a career out of it. "Miss Joseph, welcome to Peak!" Freya started off as she gestured for Aaira to take a seat. "We're very excited to have you join our team. At Peak we represent all sort of artists and professional sports players. We manage their schedule, sponsorship deals, find auditions, review contracts, set up a tour, promotional activities, whatever they need us to do to so our talent can focus on what they love doing most." She explained briefly. "Please tell me, what made you want to intern at Peak?"

“Hi,” Aaira gave a vibrant smile to Freya, feeling a bunch of excited butterflies in her stomach. Even though this was just an internship, it was big for her because it would in some ways prepare her for the career to step into. The entertainment industry wasn’t an easy one to get into… it wasn’t like file an application and wait for a response. Usually graduates in different fields especially ones like the ministry or the hospital or even the reserve got in easy. She knew many. But when it was stardom, it needed talent, hard work. Connection helped and she was hoping somehow as a student she would be able to make that, or at least have an idea on how to. Freya gave her a brief on what Peak did before directing a question at her. “I was hoping Peak could give me an idea on how the path to becoming an artist looks like and by that I mean, I can sing and write but it’s not that simple, right? There must be more to it in the beginning, like attending some events, or doing gigs, approaching people? I was hoping to learn how it all works.” She could intern under a singer who would give her similar information too but if they had gone a similar process. If they were just basing themselves of luck, or their own struggles she wasn’t sure if that would help her much. Aaira just wanted to know the basics for now which had made her choose Peak.

Freya chuckled when Aaira said something about the path to becoming a signed musician being not as easy as being able to write and sing. "It certainly isn't." Freya admitted. She wasn't going to sugar coat it. There weren't many kids who succeeded in making their dreams a reality. "How many kids you know that are able to sing somewhat decently?" Freya asked. Nowadays, they didn't even have to write their own songs. Songwriters were hired to write them all the hits if needed. "It will take work, hard work, but it's not impossible." The woman continued. "The main thing musicians need is a record deal. How do you think you'll be able to get one?"

Aaira maybe naive and dumb at times but she was practical and she looked at things realistically. She knew the field she was stepping into wasn't going to be easy and that was the hard work she didn't mind taking. It was a different kind than the school's hard work. Sure, it would need her to be more punctual and give her 100% but long as she didn't have to study stuff, she was going to give her best. Freya's question made her think about the band at school. "A few but not many." Were there hidden talents? Probably but she didn't think they wanted to be found but there weren't as many as you would find in other jobs. The girl nodded and tried to think about what was required for a record deal. "Somehow try to get my music to reach the record labels? Maybe getting a gig in one of the popular places some of the important people visit?" If they could hear the artists live and like their music, they may take interest in them.
