Important notes to the Job Applications Office.

Please note that all jobs require a minimum amount of words to be written for your application. This is also to help you figure out where you want your character to take after it has been employed. As of January 2020, large (negative) deviations from the application guidelines may cause your application to be rewritten to be considered for acceptance.

 

Some jobs are only available as senior positions, which is why character age is included in the application form. It's allowed to include a range here.

Jobs that will require a minimum amount of posts in a check in
Some jobs in institutions have limited vacancies. Due to this we require applicants to be active and we will include a post requirement in the next check in to avoid all the spots being taken by inactive characters. All other jobs don't have a maximum amount of applicants and therefore are free of the post requirements.

• Head of the Magical Creature Reserve

Jobs that will include the obligation to participate in the Hogwarts Internship Seminar
Leadership positions within Hogwarts Online are limited and we count on the writers of characters in such positions to be active and to stimulate others joining their place of work. Therefore we will count on writers in those positions to show students around their place of work and find others in their department to help out as well. Those positions are:

• Minister
• Ministry Secretaries
• St. Mungo's Department Head
• (Deputy) Head of the Magical Creature Reserve
• (Deputy) Head of the Observatory
• (Deputy) Editor in Chief of the Daily Prophet
• (Deputy) Head of Magical Minds Preschool
• (Deputy) Head Warden of Azkaban
• Mayors
• Captains of the UK Quidditch Teams
• Managers of the UK Quidditch Teams
• Gringotts' Senior Curse Breakers

Jobs that will only accept Dark Wizards and/or Dark Creatures (e.g. Vampires/Werewolves) under rare circumstances
To comply with HP canon, we have chosen to restrict the number of jobs Dark Wizards and Dark Creatures can apply for. To be accepted into one of these places you will need an outstanding application and include your plans your character has at the place of employment and how your character would've gotten through the selection process. The places of employment include:

• Ministry of Magic
• St. Mungo's
• Azkaban
• Shops in Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley

If your character still wants to apply for any of these jobs as a dark creature/dark wizard, your application needs to elaborate on the details of this. Only well thought out applications will be accepted.

As per 21/04/2020​ characters cannot change jobs for three months after having the first job approved.

The job office is constantly evolving. We regularly add new jobs and new places of employment, as well as given members the opportunity to look for their own staff more easily by the Open Vacancy Thread. Recently we've also added badges and updated the recommended NEWTs per job page. If you have an idea for new jobs, please reach out and we can discuss adding it to the jobs office!

 

Badges

There are several badges going around, which can be requested by the people below. If you've requested one, don't forget to save and credit! When requesting, please provide the following items to whoever is going to make it: Birthday | Day of Sorting into Job | Full Name | Picture: Facing the camera with a plain background | Optional: Transparant Signature

   - Apparition License: Will be issued when completing the class by Prof. Ying Fa-Li

   - Healer Certification: Will be issued when completing the class by Prof. Caleb Rothwell, or by contacting Healer Lieke Maes

   - Curse Breaker ID: Can be requested by contacting Scorpius Malfoy

   - Press ID: Can be requested by contacting Zoey McLaggen

   - Ministry Badge: Can be requested by contacting Minister Fallon Steelgrave
