Beloved Members,

 

Given recent events, the Governors and I have decided to take several steps to improve HO's response to mental health issues that our members may be dealing with on a regular basis. Mental health has long been a taboo in our society, but HO is a safe space for all people and we want you to feel comfortable discussing the very normal issue of struggling with mental health issues.

 

To that end, we will be working to make resources available to all of our members so that you can seek our help if you are feeling like you need assistance coping with your thoughts and feelings. We would also like to invite you all to take a brief survey about HO and how we can better help you all feel safe talking freely about your issues here on the site and with your fellow members. This survey is completely anonymous and will be used to improve the site.

 

Please remember, if you are having thoughts of suicide, you should seek help immediately. Find many international resources on suicide prevention HERE. As always, feel free to approach any Governor with questions or to seek support here on the site.

Thank you so much for posting this, and taking steps to help those that need it (myself included). It’s good that we are at least talking about it, and making it common place so that we may feel more comfortable discussing it. We should be able to support each other through our tough times, and our fun HO times. If anyone needs to talk my door is always open.

I wish this was posted years ago. Perhaps brief descriptions on certain autism's as well since we have a few people here on the spectrum and people tend to overlook it or say its an excuse.
