When HO first moved to IP Board, the governor's board at the time thought that it would be fun to prank the members for the day. It was then that the forum-flipping code was added. I doubt they knew at the time that it would be a recurring thing because the code has not been successfully removed from the system despite all efforts to do so. We don't know why it still happens, but it's the pranks that keeps on pranking every year. So here are some things you need to know about the April 1st Forum Flip.

  • It starts at midnight on April 1st and ends at 11:59 PM. When the clock strikes 12 midnight on April 2nd, the forum will go back to normal.
  • This is not specific to the time zone that the forum operates on which is the Eastern time zone. Rather, it is dependent on where you are in the world. For example, a member in Australia will experience the forum flip before a member in Hawaii.
  • If you bookmark either your RPs or the View New Content page, the forum being flipped is really only a minor inconvenience.

As of writing this, I don't remember if the Find shortcut works, so I'll update for that on April 1st.

Thanks for understanding, and Happy April Fool's Day!
