Gryffindor

You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;

Those of the Gryffindor house possess a great deal of courage. Brave of heart, they are often quick to act and can be deemed impatient. Haste is a fault: getting excited to get going on a project without thinking the situation through first. A quick temper is also common of a Gryffindor. They are full of valor and will normally stand up for what they believe is right. They are often the hero, as they are very chivalrous and quick to lend a helping hand. As providers and protectors, they would do anything for family and friends.

 

Hufflepuff

You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;

Those of the Hufflepuff house are often well-rounded. They are quite social, but when they are in a bad mood or feel left out, they can retract into themselves -- just like the badger symbol of their house. They are the most loyal to friends and family, and they have a lot of pride in themselves and the things they believe in. Hufflepuffs are often wonderful at giving advice, listening to others, and helping those around them. They are comprised of great patience and boast a hard-working attitude.

 

Ravenclaw

Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;

Those of the Ravenclaw house are more reserved, taking a step back to analyze things around them before making any decisions. They are generally quick-witted and analytical, but can fall to the traps of addiction to escape. Ravenclaws are intelligent and artistic, yet very critical of others. They weigh all of the options set before them and try to choose the most desirable outcome. A robust Ravenclaw would sooner choose a battle of words and skill over that of wands and fists. A thirst for knowledge is always present, and they are often pegged as being "wise beyond their years."


 

Slytherin

Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folks use any means
To achieve their ends.

Those of the Slytherin house are quite ambitious. Setting their sights on a goal, they rarely waver from their mission. Using any means possible, these cunning folks go for broke. Vanity and self-preservation are two faults the Slytherins share, for they will often sacrifice almost anything to get what they want. They are rarely interested in anything that doesn't directly benefit them. They are graceful fighters, but when bested, they shrink back in an attempt to protect themselves.
