Hello!

Now with being Professor for Amhlaidh Haugen for the second term I find myself running out of PM space real fast with only a hundred messages storage. I don't want to delete my messages, as information is stored there and ideas as well. Most of the time I need it. Can that be expanded?  Otherwise I have for Amhlaidh to go back and rely on email? :frantic:  It isn't easier, but in the past it was the only way of communication. I message pretty much.

I've expanded the storage space a little bit, but know that we can't do that again because it could be taxing on HO's servers. So please use your PM box storage space wisely. Delete messages you don't need, and if you're using it to save content, you will need to move that content somewhere else so that you can conserve space in  your inbox. Consider getting a Gmail account so that you can transfer what's in your PM box into Google Docs.

Ah thanks that's more than enough for me. I will search out what could be deleted.

But would you say that the PM box also could be run from a google docs account? Like patching through when there is a response and that I can respond from there? I know about little less than twenty years ago I could slave my university email towards my own hotmail and communicate from my hotmail always as primary account for everything. Is that what you mean with transferring my PM's toward Google Docs, or Google Mail, or another email provider? Or is just archiving?

I have now Yahoo mail for archiving. But it means there that I got a copy and not the original. I can't respond directly back when I have a new brainwave on the same matter. Emails from communication I never really delete either.

No, the PM box and an email account cannot be connected. What I'm saying is that if you need to save PMs, make a copy and save them in a Google Doc, and write the name of the sender or recipient in the doc. Everyone needs to be very conservative about their PM box space. Even as a governor, I don't have more than 50 messages saved.

If those PMs are really important to you, you will want a back-up copy saved somewhere off the forum.
