Universal Academic Standards
Members of Hogwarts Online,
Starting this Fall Term 2019, new Academic Standards will be put into place on Hogwarts Online. These standards must be utilized by all professors so as to ensure that how a student goes about earning points and a Quill is equitable across all courses being offered.
We ask that everyone take a moment to read the important information below, as these standards go into effect on September 5th when Fall Term officially opens. Below you will find information about Class Quills, Class Points, Classroom Set-Up, and Non-Class Quills.
Class Quills
- Professors will be required to post and update a Tracker for students to follow their progress in class.
- Students will need to number every post they make in class.

- Classes should be self-paced, though professors are still required to participate and be present.
- Ideally, all lessons should be posted in classrooms prior to the start of term.
- Unless necessary, journals should no longer be created for classes.
Teaching Requirements
- Every house administrator has to teach as least one class every term, with the exception of summer term.
- Likewise for students, in summer there will be no requirements for students to participate in any school or club events
Non-Class Quills
- Anyone may apply for a student club or event to award NCQs, though this must be approved by the Governors and proof must be provided of work completed to earn Quills.
- A PM should be sent to the Academics Governor with a list of students who have earned a NCQ through an approved event, including any necessary documentation of proof before the Academics Governor submit them in the HO Office.
Currently, the following are Non-Class Quills approved by the Governors:
