I Am The Cheese? Well I'm only about halfway through it but about this teenager, (Adam) and I'm guessing he has retardation. Anyways, Adam's parents are divorced and he can't remember why so one day he gets his dad a present, wraps it up in newspaper, and ride his bike the whole way across 3 states to give it to him. He leaves after school while his mom is at work, I think. He isn't very clear on his thoughts because the book wrote out kinda weird. One chapter is the story, and the next would be a recorded section of Adam and his Doctor at the funny farm. Adam is talking to this doctor about his past because he should have seen the clues, but we don't know what he's talking about yet. I haven't gotten that far yet, I've been kinda busy. He also has this girlfriend, Amy. And she's the one that taught him how to come out of his shell, She kinda is his mental support along the journey. I kinda sounds boring but I find it all very intriguing... During the journey, Adam gets all these flashbacks from his childhood, giving him clues to something. And still, the author doesn't tell us though..There was one flashback where him and his father were walking to the post office. Suddenly his father seemed very frightened and grabbed Adam and they ran down an alley, his father kept looking back to see if anyone was following. Adam was confused and asked him, but his father would just smile and tell him they were going to look for some pretty flowers for mother in the forest. Well they went to the forest, but ran into an angry stray dog. Long story short, they made it back home with just a few scratches.
