I don't know if it is just me and my memory or the site, but for some odd reason I will leave my computer for a few hours on my first year Gryffindor and when I come back and refresh the site I would be logged on to this Character, Taylor.

Now I know no one is using my computer, and that it goes to sleep mode when I come back. I also know that it's always from my Gryffindor to Taylor, never vise versa. And I'm 100% sure that I left when on my Gryffindor.

So I'm wondering if there is some default on place where it will go to Taylor when inactive for awhile.... I don't think there is but it's really annoying that its switching like this. I've tried properly logging off (Not the Quick Log In) then logging back on with my Gryffindor, but it's still happening.

So what's happening and how do I fix it?

I have that problem too, though it varies with which face it seems to go back to. And when it does it, for me at least, the forum is set the way it was when I was last logged in, meaning until I log into a different face, I don't see new topics.

I had that same problem as well. It stopped doing it for me yesterday, but now, I can't quick switch between characters.

it did that to me till I deleted Firefox completely and re-download it. Then it stopped and worked perfectly but click on the option that doesn't say anything about the regular internet...

If I use the log In up at the top, without logging out, I can switch between characters. But when I come back later, it is on the original character.

It happens to me when the 3.0 comes up or the summer plot skin. But if I refresh sometimes it goes back to the face I switched to.

Are you all using the 3.0 skin? I believe that if you use the Login popup at the top, and don't logout first on the 3.0, after a while, it will expire your session for the new character, and default back to the old character. If this is on other skins too, it might be a problem with jcink.

I use the 2.0 skin, and it did the same thing for me. I was on Arianna, left the computer for a while, came back to post, and then noticed I was on Lorcans after refreshing the screen.

Yes, I believe if you use the quick-login box on any skin, it will only keep you logged in for a certain amount of time, because of the way cookies and sessions work on Jcink. I might mention this to him to see if this is a bug or not.

I've not had this problem with my characters, but I use different browsers for each of them, mainly...there are two that get swapped between on my Google Chrome browser and they never switch between when I leave the computer for a bit or even when it goes idle, etc.

Its a jcink thing as far as I know because I can leave for hours and come back not logged in. Its a safety feature. The quick log in though switches back to the original character you had on when you did the switch. There is no way to really fix it.
