Jane nodded when she mentioned her relative being part of Swedish League Teams. Welch spent a significant time of her life at Durmstrang.  "I think it is important to know the game enough to be able to sort out the injury that it could cause. The bone that are likely to get fracture in outstretched hand. Vertebras likely to get displaced when player slide and fall off their back. I would encourage you to know the mechanics of the body and muscle tears." She could go on and on about the importance but, they are supposed to be more focused on the healing. "So, the next time you cheer for a team. I would like for you to notice what part of the body a player is using." Jane smiled at the intern and straightened her then relaxed shoulder.

Jane raised her eyebrow when the girl apologized for asking a question. "You shouldn't. You are here to learn, if my experience can't help you then I am as useful as a Hospital Wizard. I was taken back, because I wasn't expecting a question but I am glad that you did." She reassured her with a smile. "Now. Can you tell me what all things a Medi wizard could require during a game? No pressure, you can tell me what all you know about this job."

She had already figured that being a relative of some quidditch player wouldn't help much on the profession she wanted and that was also confirmed by Jane. Merion as listened to the woman as she gave her an advice and suggested to keep an eye on the next match - this sounds just in time for the upcoming quidditch season in Hogwarts. With all the has been said, it felt that it's time for her take down notes about what Jane had mentioned so far, so the girl pulled out some notebook and an enchanted pen, she didn't want to bring her school quill, ink and parchment at a quidditch pitch it's just inconvenient. She wrote down some keywords from what Jane mentioned made sure to have her brother help her with her first assignment. Noted that. she said as finishes writing the last word.

She was kind of glad that her question wasn't actually taken unwelcome, as Jane said, she just got surprised with the question thus her reaction upon hearing it. They just got to move on. What Jane asked her next was something that got her thinking - she didn't want to state an already obvious fact, Medi wizards are known to be the first responders, they are mostly present during Quidditch games or any other wizarding tournament. Being first responders, a medi wizard would need to have an advance emergency medical knowledge. she answered the woman.

Jane regarded that the young girl had a positive attitude, seemed dedicated to her goal. At that age, Welch struggled to find an appropriate department to sign up for the internship. Even though she was very interested in joining the Quidditch team, she was troubled about her decision. During those days, it was almost impossible to acquire a position that was not stable as that of a Healer. But, then again, where there is a will, there is a way.  "What you require to be a Medi Wizard, is first of all, few spells that would stabilize the Quidditch Player. It is impossible to have equipment as much a Hospital normally does have. So your first job is to prevent the player from severing their injury, from dying in the field." She explained in a calmer voice and slightly leaned back. "We also do take responsibility of players' diet, so they'd eat healthy. Their physique maintenance also comes under our duty." Which was the most tricky part as few of the players were heavy alcohol consumer.

"So, you'd always need a wand, obviously, blood replenishing potion, dittany, and few spells to reduce the impact of the energy experienced through collision." She said, hoping that the young girl was noting all those things.

Hearing her supervisor's response regarding the question made her think twice about the profession. The face that she didn't know all that was said by Jane means, she's probably taking a wrong idea of how it is to be in that profession. Merion listened to every word Jane had said regarding being the mediwizard and took note most of what she can catch. It was then when it hit her that the profession she is trying to pursue was somewhat busier than she expected. A sentence caught her attention to peak - We also do take responsibility of players' diet, so they'd eat healthy. Their physique maintenance also comes under our duty. So mediwizards are like assistance to coaches. Dietary planning and routinary exercises.. wow.. is what she had in mind. The wow expression doesn't need to be said, her facial expression could say it.

A few more items Jane added to what requires to be a mediwizard and Merion made sure that she had took note of everything her supervisor just said.

There were some days that Rush could not believe that it had happened. That he was standing here, in the team room in their home stadium - waiting for a match to open - officially as a professional quidditch player signed up with a league as their seeker. Yes..it had happened. All those months of toiling in the field, running after managers for one glance and one chance, constant owling different people, practicing in the day and working night shifts in the bar had eventually given him what he had so dearly wanted ever since he had passed out from Hogwarts. His name on a t-shirt, with the official team name - Ballycastle Bats. The few months that had passed between him passing out from school and actually getting signed up with the team had been humbling for Rush. He had passed out with utterly high confidence and a bit too sure of himself about landing a league position because he had done the unthinkable right? He had lead a ragtag team of first years, shaped them into good players and had maintained a streak of wins with no losses - up until they had won the championship. In his mind, he was a good candidate and he didn't really think he would have to wait so much or work so hard for this. How wrong was he. Life after Hogwarts had thrown him off the loop entirely, introducing him to the harsh realities of being an adult and seeing what real life really was about. It didn't matter what you deserved or what you didn't - real life was all about chances, and opportunities..and being in the right moment at the right time. Which is what he had been - right moment at the right time - by the ballycastle field just when Alexander von Strauss was walking out..and had asked the man for some tips but had received a recommendation which had eventually landed him where he was. It was almost as if it was a pattern of the universe, and even now Rush couldn't fathom where he would have been if he had not been there - if he would even received this opportunity.

This was his very first match after the announcement had gone on every newspaper and radios about the UK leagues restarting. Along with the announcement of the newest seeker for Ballycastle Bats coming in the aftermath of Alexander von Strauss going national. With his face on the Daily Prophet, Rush had become a bit known by at least the residents of UK - at least those who were ardent followers of the leagues. And even when he worked the shifts in the bar at times - not wanting to give up that position - there would be people coming to him, especially girls, for a photo..which was unnerving for Rush. He hadn't really done anything yet, apart from practicing with the team hard and trying to understand their playing style. It was a little difficult for Rush to settle in the role of a newbie within a team because he was so used to leading a whole team by now and commanding their play and practice style. Here, he had to listen. And more than anything, he had to listen to Astrid - you can imagine how that would be going for him. They were slowly getting into shape though, and were pseudo ready for the first match of the season. Though Rush still didn't feel confident. This was different, this was him facing off really experienced players - players way more experienced in a professional set up. And he had no clue what their play on the field was like - he could only speculate based on what he saw on the television - and it was giving him some anxiety. One of the reasons he had reached the match area quite early on, way before the rest of their team came, and was sitting in their team shed - silent..in a bid to get his confidence high. To think up some extra strategy. To figure out anything. God, this was so..mixed for him - it was exciting, super exciting..it was everything he had ever wanted in his life..and it was scary. There was the fear of failure so starkly against the excitement. Nobody expected him to win - he was new after all..and this was his only chance of proving them wrong.

He had sent an owl to dad, telling him about his first match and he had really hoped that he would be able to make it. If you had asked him some time back, he would probably given a big list of people he wanted there with him in his first match that he couldn't even owl now - he hadn't spoken to Alex ever since that night, Mags was still in Russia and even though things were better with him..they were still unresolved, Carter and him had drifted apart, Raph was probably in school and there was her - the one name on the forefront, the first person he would have wanted to call that he couldn't even take now..without succumbing to the dark thoughts on the back of his head. Him and her had spoken, yes..there were a few things that had been cleared. But that didn't make the pain, or the hurt or the self doubt go away that easily - nor did it make the addiction go away that easily. And thinking of her just sent him in such a spiral, that he couldn't do it right now. Not now. This was important and he needed to be on his A game. At least Mace would be here. Deciding to just move his legs and feet a bit, Rush got up from his place - shaking his shoulders and then walking out into the pleasant spring breeze. The stands had started to fill - and some reporters from the distance had seen him and were coming up to him and he turned to them with a smile.

Pippa loves quidditch, she always has, and always will. She’s familiar with all the quidditch teams and their players, thanks to her extra job, she’d encounter a lot of quidditch players for the last few months. She knows what ball does what and all the rules. She could tell who’s who up in the sky when watching a match. She was simply fascinated with the sport, the brooms and everything in between. While in school, she tried to learn everything, even played for their house to compete, and they won the quidditch cup. It was a proud moment for her, so proud that all their efforts served a purpose. She will never forget those times in school, it was one of the highlights of her student life most especially the one she’s sharing the memories with. And it’s for that reason hence why she’s here, looking like an idiot, wearing Liam’s long sleeves, soft pants, and rubber shoes. She put her hair in a tight bun and wore a short black wig to conceal her blonde hair because it’s very noticeable. Just the hair alone screams Pippa Miller! Obviously, she’s not the only one who has blonde hair, but still, it’s the first thing that would surely give her away and it’s what she’s avoiding happening hence why she put on the disguise in the first place. Yes, she’s hiding because she’s still feeling guilty for what she did, too guilty that she almost gave up watching this game in person and just check it out on the screen or in the newspaper tomorrow. But then again, she knew she will not forgive herself if she’s not going to do this. This is very important to her as it is important to him. She’s also fulfilling a promise she made herself during their graduation day… that once he reached his dream of becoming a pro someday, she would be there to support him in her on way, wherever life takes her, whatever the situation may be, even if she’s no longer a part of his life, she will still support him. Not only that, but she is also proud of him…in that moment, as she stepped foot in that familiar Bats stadium.

How time flies…she could still remember seeing him here while they’re both buying their food before the championship between Kenmare and Bats, and now… she’s back again but this time, it’s to watch him play as the newest seeker of the Bats. Her heart swelled with pride; she’s scared it will burst any moment from excitement. It’s all over the news, the Bat’s new players, including him. They shared his story and it’s very awe-inspiring. Whatever he is now, he truly deserved it, she should know, she would always know. Pippa bought Bats shirt, one size bigger and put it over her long sleeves which would hide her small bulge. Speaking of her sweat pea, she smiled knowing she’s not the only one who’s excited to see him again. Yes, they’ve talked but it didn’t fix anything, and it doesn’t mean everything’s okay between them again. It’s one thing Pippa is trying to deal with until now, but what else is there to do? At least he knows the truth now, there’s nothing to hide anymore…err..uh..yeah…except for one thing. She could feel the pulse in her tummy, maybe from anticipation of seeing him again. If she didn’t drink her potion, she would have been running to the toilet by now to throw up. Any minute now, you’ll be seeing your daddy. She mumbled.

After she bought cheeseburger, sweet potato, and orange juice, Pippa finally entered the stadium, her white cap covering half of her face. The cheers could be heard from the stands, it’s overwhelming. She almost forgot how it feels like since the blast. Thinking about it is already giving her anxiety. Hopefully, this game will commence and end in peace. Finally finding her allotted seat, she happily sat down and started eating, her eyes sweeping the field and the stands in contentment. Then a slight commotion could be heard from one side of the stadium, it seemed one of the players came out of their locker room? She checked if it’s Tori or Alec so she could greet them but remembering what she looks like now, it’s useless. Maybe later then, she will remove her disguise and ambush them after the game. Instead of her friends, she saw Rush. Eyes wide, Pippa shifted her eyes away from that direction and ate her food innocently. She even pushed her cap down to hide her face.

Rush was still not used to the fame thing - though it wasn't something he was entirely averse to; quite unlike his teammates many of whom would not like the reporters, the newspapers or the paparazzi. But Rush had been denied his opportunities enough to know when to take a blessing in disguise - yes, it might turn annoying after a while and he might want to take stock of his own private life when it came to the media, but for now he was taking anything that he gets. He knew as a professional quidditch player, he didn't just need to play well, but he needed to have people root for him. Needed the support that came with being a well loved player - because getting sponsorships as a team was great, but wouldn't it be great if he gets sponsorship as an individual. It would really cement his position within the team and within the leagues in itself - and Rush really wanted to make a name for himself. Right now, he was one of the youngest lot in the leagues, a position he wasn't used to being because somehow he had become so used to leading and used to being the best. If he was the best in his skill or not, that would be found out soon - starting with this match they were going to play - but that didn't mean he couldn't milk whatever attention he got.

Since there were quite some time before the match to start, and his teammates had yet to arrive, Rush moved towards the reporters as well, a friendly smile on his face as some of them clicked his pictures. He wasn't as known as his teammates, but slowly he was becoming known enough. "Rush! Rush! Over here..this side.." A few of them tried getting his attention, and he turned to them, giving a wave and posing well. Hey, if it makes to the prophet the next day, he needs to look good right? Also, somewhere in the back of his mind, there was also the notion regarding a certain person that he didn't want to entertain - but that he knew deep inside was true. He had not seen her ever since that day when she had showed up in the bar - and even though he had been tempted to seek her the moment he had received the news, he had refrained. It was a stupid impulse, coming from that deep seated need to tell her what was happening with him, to tell her the good things in his life, to share his victories with her - just like he had done in the past year. And it could have been so easy, she practically lived in the same place that he worked at - but..he couldn't. However much he wanted to, he couldn't. The pain of what she had done was worse than the pain of not being with her, and if he did tell her - then what? Then what? Did that miraculously make everything okay? Did it make him forget the dark nights, did it make him get over his issues, did that make him trust her again? Where did they go from there? What would she think? Anytime Rush would consider going down that road, his own questions and the way they affected him would stop him. But..maybe she will see this photo of him in the prophet. Maybe she will see the headline - 'Newest Bats seeker, Markowitz, leads the team to victory after catching the snitch in record time'. Maybe thats how she will know. It was so idiotic of him to think like that. Sue him, he couldn't stop it.

"Excited for the match? Isn't this your first?" A mic was shoved under his nose, and he grinned at the reporter. "Absolutely. It is my first, and I plan on winning it. They.." He pointed at the opposing team area. "..won't know what hit 'em." He gave a little wink at that. "What is your strategy? Hey - " The reporter was just in the middle of asking more questions, when something had caught Rush's attention in front of the opposing team locker room and without saying anything to the reporters he had shifted to the side to look in that direction clearly. A hint of blonde caught his eyes, his mind taking him as if on cue back to the person who dominated his mind - but his heart knowing this wasn't her. In fact, this was someone had mistaken for her before as well, if remembered that night in the bar. He raised a hand in greeting to the blonde, who gave him a little flirtatious smile as well as she walked towards him. Anya Orlova. His competition for the day. There was a sudden furor amongst the reporters as some of them scrambled towards her as well, though for a moment Rush did disregard them as he walked towards her. "Ready to be crushed, Orlova?" A teasing smile quirked up his lips as one of his eyebrows raised up in challenge, as she responded back with something suggestive, causing him to laugh lightly in a perfect nonchalance. The reporters had their material as well it seemed, since they seemed to be watching the two of them like a hawk, taking a couple of pictures and not disturbing them.

Heon had a terrible fear that he was getting out of shape. He was spending way too much time outside the grounds and without brooms. Although he was really enjoying his days off, touring the countrysides, a feeling of guilt was beginning to creep into his mind towards his lack of attention to exercising and expanding his flying skills. Especially as a team captain, it would be really awkward to have his form way off if a new tournament is announced out of the blue. The fans would absolutely love to trash him for that. So, he decided to get that solved by getting permission to practice at the pitch in the Bodmin moor, the nearest field to where he was presently at. He rented out some quidditch supplies from a friend of his in the area and headed to the stadium. Setting the supplies chest down, he opened and started staring at it. He absolutely wanted to go out for a ride with the snitch, but was arguing with himself for the benefits in trying out something with the quaffles and bats.

Carina got her practice in wherever she could. She lived and breathed Quidditch on and off the pitch. Her usual haunt was the woods outside of Holyhead, but given her propensity for traveling around, just about any forest would do. As the Seeker, she had to keep her agility sharp, and the odds of running into anyone in the thick of the wilds was slim. It was just unrealistic to practice alone on the pitch, as there were already too few pitches in the UK and every team was clamouring for practice slots. Carina knew from how challenging it was to schedule team practices sometimes, whether on or off-season. But today she thought she'd take a shot. Her owl had come back to her shortly after lunch, stating that Bodmin Moor was available. Huh. Well would you look at that. The woman got changed and zipped off on her broom. It was true the stadium was quiet, but imagine her surprise when she sidled up to the stands and someone was standing on the field, staring into a big old box. Carina flew down, landing gracefully on her feet before swinging her broom onto her shoulder. "Oi. Captain Watson. Didn't think I'd be finding anyone else here. You're not hosting a team practice, are you?" She hoped not, otherwise the stadium management had something to answer for. In truth, this could have been worse. She could just piss off to the woods and carry on as per her usual routine. But if she'd scheduled a team practice, then this would be a lot more frustrating.

Heon convinced himself to go for a ride with the snitch, as he is a seeker first and foremost. He was reaching his hands out to pick the snitch up from the chest when he was startled by someone landing near him. He swiftly turned towards the person and noticed that it was none other than Captain Carina Thomas of the Kenmare Kestrals. "Captain Thomas! I wasn't expecting you here either," he paused before adding, "Nah, I'm solo here and I'm assuming you are too?" he asked, looking around to make sure that none of her teammates were around. He definitely would not be pleased if they are here for a team practice.

Picking up the dormant snitch from his chest, he held it in his left palm and asked, "We're both seekers, so why don't we go for a spin together?" It certainly did not seem like a bad idea, the two of them held the exact same positions in their respective teams. Chasing the snitch with a competition around makes the practice absolutely more alive and real.

Carina had no specific plans — a frequent occurrence for her. She just usually did whatever came to mind when she had the broom between her legs or got a good scope of the landscape. Sometimes that ended up being agility drills, sometimes it was speed timing, and sometimes it was stunt refining. As a Seeker, you had to be able to do it all. Today there was no telling what she would have opted for, as any carefully formulated thoughts about practice dissipated the second she saw Heon. This was a twist in her afternoon she had not foreseen. But Carina was not one to grow upset over life's curveballs. She welcomed them, as they kept her from getting bored. And this one was harmless in contrast to some of the crap life had pulled on her. "I suppose the pitch managers had a miscommunication and decided we could bear to practice side by side." Whatever it was, this was their situation now. The woman scratched behind her ear. "Doesn't happen often, but it's just me today." She was usually here early regardless to get the equipment set up, but this time no team would be following.

The man was seemingly unbothered by the whole ordeal, as he offered to train together, sort of. Carina's lips twisted into a smirk. "You're on." The woman swung her broom between her legs and kicked up to hover a few feet off the ground. "May the best Seeker win." Heon may not know her terribly well, but he would learn very quickly that competition was something that got the blood rushing through her veins. Even the friendly kind.

Heon did not really care much about the management's miscommunication, mistakes happen. As a matter of fact, he was very glad that the situation had given him a chance to have a partner to train with. He absolutely hated to practice alone. After all, where is the fun in showcasing and stretching out your flying skills if no one's there to witness it?

Heon has never went against Carina before, but he does know that she is a very talented seeker. More talented than him? We'll just have to see! Heon smiled as Carina accepted his suggestion for a friendly competition. Hoping onto his broom, he raised himself off the ground. "May the best seeker win," he responded back to Carina's words verbatim. Holding the snitch in his palm, he raised his hand up in the air and let the snitch off.

"Let's go!" he said as he shot himself towards the target.

Happy accidents were a relatively frequent occurrence in Carina's life. She attracted a lot of unusual things in her life, most of them positive. And this felt like it fell into the latter category. While she was used to training alone, the woman was a social creature by nature and rarely refused company. Fellow Quidditch players were always interesting to interact with, because everything revolved around Quidditch. Even more so when they were on the pitch. She didn't think she'd really be asking Heon how his home life was going right now. Not while trying to beat him at his own game. She might have proposed a wager, but she'd let the man off easy this time.

Heon got up on his broom as well, and wasted no time in kicking things off. Much better than trying to make some idle smalltalk. At the other's cue, her eyes darted off in the direction of the fleeing snitch, the rest of her subsequently following. She was a fraction of a second behind the other seeker, but urged her broom on faster to fall into stride with him. She flew slightly higher than he was, reducing the risk of midair collision slightly if the snitch abruptly decided to change direction, as it was wont to do. As the small golden ball pitched upward, she yanked the end of her broom, tipping herself back into a steep ascent. Carina squinted against the sun, trying desperately to maintain a visual on the snitch from where she saw it glinting.

Heon's day was turning out very exciting. He was expecting the day to be nothing more than a usual practice session and his plans were pretty much limited to just stretching out on the broom to rid him of the inertia of rest and to touch up on some cool moves to get back comfortable with the subtle art of flying-for-a-living again. He managed to get to do all that and more, with the flavor of competition added to the air by a fantastically talented seeker whose skills he really admired.

Not hesitating to waste a single moment, Carina shot herself towards the snitch and caught up to Heon's position. Maintaining his vision of her in his periphery, Heon's eyes were very keen on centering the golden snitch's position. A very valuable 'seeking' lesson that he learnt during his initial years playing the game, was to never lose the sight off the snitch. It's equally or if not more important than the speed of flight or the chase for the snitch. The position is not called the chaser for a reason. Not long after a relatively straight ride, the golden ball decided to swerve upwards towards the open sky. Hugging his broom to avoid any drag, he quickly spun himself at the broom's axis. Changing the spin axis at the next instant using the acceleration gained, he was slingshotted towards the sky and positioned himself on the track towards the snitch, not speeding down in the slightest, gaining him the upper hand. Heon was a huge show off when it comes to flying, so he would, of course, not lose any chance to display his signature maneuvers.

Heon wasn't about to go easy on her, and Carina was grateful for it. She was an all or nothing kind of person, and so if you declared a competition, you'd best be prepared to compete. It was all in good fun, obviously, but that wouldn't stop her from actively trying to win. The other Seeker was keeping pace with her. You could race another player side-by-side all you wanted, but it was in the sharp maneuvering as the Snitch randomly darted around that would determine the victor. As they both pitched upward, she noted Leon's strategy of lagging behind only to shoot right past her. "Nice one," she commented as she sped up to catch back up with the man. She could give credit where credit was due. Flying directly towards the sun, it became increasingly difficult to keep an eye on the snitch hiding in the blinding light through squinting eyes. All she could do was keep flying straight and hope the snitch was still up ahead... until she saw a glint to the left. Carina looked over, and saw the Snitch flying towards the goal hoops. The Seeker made a sharp turn, having a slight advantage because she'd been to the left of Heon. Sneaky little snitch. She zipped along towards the large metal posts, knowing things could get interesting if they were left to weave and maneuver between the hoops to chase the snitch.

Heon's eyes were keenly placed on the snitch, at least on what he thought was the golden ball. The sun's flare was really hard to ignore and it seemed to affect both the seekers. "Thanks!" he responded to Carina's comment with a smile. He also noted that Carina had caught up to him really fast, especially after his non-decelerating maneuver. The woman's certainly an incredibly fast flyer. Heon was beginning to get a little worried about that as it seemed like his chance of winning was practically close to zero if it comes down to just speed. It was then that the snitch took a hard turn to the left. Heon followed suit, but was now lagging behind Carina as she was flying to his left when they turned. On realizing that the ball's trajectory was towards the goal posts, Heon sighed with a breath of relief and charged faster with a smile to catch up to his competition. Speed would for sure not matter if the snitch decides to play around the hoops. And it did seem like the flying ball was planning to take the seekers for a bumpy ride as it began to entwine in and out of the goal hoops. Its motion was too erratic that Heon decided to break away from the straight line and started to fly in a zig-zag, following the snitch's trajectory, making sure he met the sharp corners with a gentle swing of his broom to make sure he did not lose a lot of his speed.

Carina could feel the familiar thump of her heartbeat in her ears. The race of adrenaline was a sensation she frequently chased in her everyday life, and she was fortunate enough to have secured a career that gave it to her on a regular basis. She'd known from a very young age that a desk job would never be in the cards for her. Apparently Heon here wasn't much of one for paperwork either. There was that sense of community amid all Quidditch Players, because they all had common base traits that propelled them into this career path. Heon had caught back up to her, as she assumed he would — any competent Seeker would have — and now the snitch was toying with them a little by wandering around the hoops. Heon went straight after it, but Carina slowed, hovering down near the base of the middle hoop, keeping a sharp eye on the snitch and watching for her opportunity to intercept in a swift swoop. Work smarter, not harder. Heon was doing a good job of tailing it, but hadn't caught up to it yet. As the small golden ball swerved back around towards the middle hoop, she readied herself, and sharply flew upward as it darted past above her. A hand swiped out, but it was too fast, and zipped off just as she bumped Heon. Carina audibly cussed before shaking her head and gripping both hands to her handle again to steady her broom.

Heon grinned as he and Carina chased after the snitch in their friendly practice. He knew that she was a skilled player, and he was very much enjoying their friendly competition. As they flew through the air, Heon kept an eye on the snitch and on Carina, trying to anticipate their movements. He knew that he would have to stay alert and focused if he wanted to catch the snitch before she did. As the snitch swerved around the hoops, Heon followed closely behind, watching as Carina made her move to intercept. But it was too fast and she missed, bumping into Heon in the process. He could hear Carina cussing. Within the next moment, Heon swiftly steadied his broom and checked on his competitor, "You alright?" He chuckled at her frustration, but truth be told, he found himself admiring Carina's determination. He knew that she was a fierce competitor and was glad to have her as a practice partner. Honestly, he was looking forward to getting to know her better.

Heon then got back to following the snitch, focusing on finishing the game as soon as possible. He could feel the wind rushing past him as he flew, his eyes fixed on the snitch. The golden ball zigzagged through the air, and Heon angled his broom to intercept. The snitch swerved to the left, and Heon followed, his hand outstretched, and just as he was about to grab it, the snitch darted out of his grasp. The snitch was very fast, but Heon too was determined, and he continued to chase after it with all his might, maintaining Carina's movements in his peripheral vision.

Ramming into other Seekers happened sometimes. Actually, it could happen pretty frequently as both Seekers focused on catching the snitch. But never had she been in a situation where that had resulted in serious harm. The worst-case scenario was that someone fell off their broom and plummeted to the ground, but Carina was usually able to steady herself long before that became a possibility. Heon, kind as he was, asked if she was alright. Other players could be arseholes about things, only there to do their job and focused solely on that. But many of them were actually pretty lovely people. She didn't know Heon very well on a personal level, but he was proving himself to fall into the latter camp than the former one. "Yeah, I'm good. Thank you. You?" He seemed fine, and was clearly still on his broom.

With that settled, both of them got their head back in the game. The snitch had long left, so they'd have some catching up to do. Heon sped off, with Carina just behind him. Within a handful of seconds, she managed to catch up and was carefully flanking him. They were lucky they'd managed to spot the snitch again not long after it had run off. Sometimes the thing straight-up disappeared for a few minutes if you took your eyes off of it for even a second. Heon had already made a grab for it, but it slipped away. Both were hot on its tail as it banked around the east end of the pitch, closely following the fencing connecting all of the stands. It carried on around the edge of the pitch, but then suddenly, it changed direction and shot upward. Carina didn't think before her legs propelled her upward, releasing her broom handle with both hands. The foot handles of her broom bore all of her weight for a moment as she stood straight up, hand snatching the snitch right out of the air above her. Her fingers closed tightly around the cool metal, and she flopped back down, broom dipping slightly from the impact of her rear hitting the cushioned handle. Gripping her one hand to her broom again, she slowed herself down, looking down at the snitch struggling in her grip. "Gotcha." It never got any less satisfying to have the ball caged in her fingers. Carina slowed to a stop, hovering in the air, she brushed some of her hair back from her face. Whew.

As Heon chased the snitch around the pitch, he was surprised when it suddenly changed direction and shot upward. He quickly followed, trying to get close enough to grab it. Just as he reached out his hand, he saw Carina standing up on her broom. He couldn't help but slow down and witness the scene as it happened, in awe. She snatched the snitch out of the air and he watched as she fell back down onto her broom, grinning in satisfaction as she caught the snitch. Heon couldn't help but feel a little envious, wishing he had been the one to catch it. But he was still happy for Carina. Plus, he now knew some of the tricks that she had in store, which would one day come to use when they both inevitably clash against each other in a real match. Heon flew over to Carina, giving her his congratulations, "Nice catch!" he exclaimed as he parked next to her. "You make it look so easy," he added with a grin. As the practice came to an end, Heon couldn't help but feel grateful for this accidental opportunity to compete with Carina. He felt his rust shake off, the friendly competition was more than enough to get him back into the swing of things after being away from the sport for weeks.
