Why is it that the main skin seems to have a decreased brightness compared to the house skins (or maybe it's just the Ravenclaw one) and, indeed, the rest of the web? It's bugging me because it makes my sig and avatar and stuff darker than they really are, which changes the color... and I make my images the colors they are for a reason. Also, as I said, the Ravenclaw theme at least keeps things nice and bright, so the images I see in the Ravenclaw forum look different than the same images on the rest of the board, and it bugs me.

Just choose a different skin in the drop down box on the bottom of the page.

The only other skins I see are Parchement 2.0, which is equally dark, and Summer Plot, the color scheme of which I'm not particularly fond of. Should I be able to see other skins?

As of right now there are three to choose from : The Summer Plot, HO Parchment 2.0 and HO Parchment 3.0.

The reasons the skins give off a "Darker" appearance if you take note, the background behind the main section of the board is SEE THOUGH. You will see it in the darker sections of the main board you can see behind to the background. This makes banner appear darker because of that feature. in some solid dark banners you can see the background show through as well....
in fact look in my banner to the left of the word "Buried" and you can see where the backgrounds showing through....

Ahhh... I see. I was wondering about where the background shows through, but I just assumed it was some weird pixelation from when I shrunk my images.
I understand if there are reasons why this isn't so, but would it be possible for the house skins to be able to be used on the rest of the board? If you'd rather not do it, don't worry about it, though.

The house and special skins are hidden. To my knowledge, only admins are allowed to use them as full-time skins, because it is impossible to turn it off for them, so unfortunately, no, there is not a way to use them all the time, unless they are un-hidden.

I went ahead and fixed your skin since this really seemed to frustrate you, I asked a few of the govs and none of them seemed to care since it bothered you so much. Now, I cant keep changing it for you, but that should help your settings
