Introduction to Quidditch
Hogwarts Online Quidditch is based off of roleplaying. Prof. Michael Valencia is the current Director of Quidditch. Quidditch is a sport that is played competatively between all four houses. Quidditch teams must be created by each house. Quidditch is a good way to earn house points. The Quidditch Season at Hogwarts Online runs from September until June of each school year. The Quidditch Cup is awarded to the house that wins the championship game in June. There is a summer quidditch league as well.

Matches
All matches will be scheduled for a week and will role played on the main Qudditch forum. The preliminary schedule for all 9 matches is posted on the Quidditch Arena page. All matches can be re-scheduled if needed. If one team wants to reschedule, the team captain has to contact the captain of the other team and negotiate a new day and time for the match. Both captains then have to email the Director of Qudditch with the new day and time, at the latest one week in advance of the originally scheduled day. If there is no rescheduling notice from both captains one week in advance, the match will be played on the originally scheduled week.

Gameplay
Each team consists of seven players. 3 Chasers, 2 Beaters, 1 Keeper and 1 Seeker. The team captains are solely responsible for deciding who plays what position in the which match. The team rosters have to be emailed to the Director of Quidditch at least 24 hours in advance. The roster can contain up to four alternates.

The seven players who are on the field at the beginning of a match are the only ones who will play - if one does not show up on time, the captain nominates one of the reserve players as substitute. During a match, no substitutes are allowed, for whatever reason (disconnected, forced off if that happens we will pause for the day and continue the following day.).

Before the start of the game, the teams must prepare their side of the pitch. (See "Pitch Layout" for download.) The team captains must send each of his players the layout so they know where they are starting. And remember to give a copy to the Head Referee and Head Director. The Head Quidditch Referee will secretly place the snitch somewhere on the site or forum before game play.

Once game play has begun, no one not a member of the playing Qudditch team may rp in the Qudditch area. There will be a stands area for the rest of the school and staff and Shop owners to rp in as the match goes on.
