After some discussion recently, the Governors reached a decision that the current content rating of PG-13 may not be a clear enough rating to define what sort of content we allow here at HO. So, we've decided to better explain our content rating by adopting the RP Rating System rating with one addition
The RP Rating System rates three categories on a scale of 0-3 in terms of severity: language, sex, and violence. The Governors have also added a drug and alcohol category because of our rules on the subject. From the moment of this post onward, HO's official rating will be 2112.
Swearing:
Some mild swear words will be removed from the site language filter and more swearing will be permitted, however gratuitous swearing, use of more controversial swear words, and anything with racial, homophobic connotations will not be permitted.
Sex:
Some mild innuendo is permitted with age-appropriate individuals (6th year and up). Less sexual interaction between 4th and 5th years like kissing etc is still allowed. Absolutely no graphic descriptions are allowed outside of After Dark.
Violence:
Some mild violent scenes may be shown in posts, but graphic violence, domestic abuse, animal abuse, etc will not be allowed.
Drugs and Alcohol:
Drugs are limited strictly to innuendo at all times outside of After Dark. Alcohol is permitted for age-appropriate individuals (see the Student Drinking Amendment for information).
This should NOT be considered a major change from our PG-13 rating and all rating decisions followed basic PG-13 guidelines. We simply wanted to better clarify what PG-13 means for HO and expect everyone to follow these guidelines closely.
