I am reading 2 different books right now they are Blood Noir by Laurell K. hamilton if you like reading about vampires werewolves(NOT anything like twilight promise) and things like that I definitely advise this author and her Anita Blake series just be fair warned they can get a little racy. I am also currently reading the final vampire academy book which is another fantastic series!! I could also recommend anything by jodi picoult she is another amazing author!!
LOOOVE Laurell K. Hamilton...so double posted here, but this series is amazing until towards the last two books she's done. Kind of got of track in them, but she's coming back.

Also, if you live in the UK, I can recommend Chavs: The Demonization of the Working Class by Owen Jones, because it's an interesting read about the English working class.

Both of them are completely different in plot/writing style/appealling, etc but both of them are quite brilliant and hard to explain.
House of Leaves is... a complex piece that plays with your head and if you aren't too conscious of what are you reading (like I was the first time I read it) you will get caught in the book. A warning, this book will make you paranoid and it really makes you think crazy things.
The Elephant Vanishes is just so beautiful and sad and haunting; the book is made from several shorts stories with that revolves around daily life with a hint of magical realism. My favourite one is called The Silence.

Woohoo Dresden Files

I also recently relistened to HP and I agree missed a few things in the two and three reads I have done on them.
I am currently reading the second in a series by Pip Ballentine (the first pod caster from New Zealand)
I might stop it though to read Masterharper of Pern in honor of Anne McCaffrey

Dragonriders of Pern are one of my favorite series, as well, and Paolini's Inheritance books are a wonderful, if a bit difficult, read.
